Lovers of knowledge are somehow inwardly conscious of their Creator. They believe that He has arranged for their Sustenance and Guidance. Humans are also aware of the Divine instructions reaching them through Allah’s Messengers in Book form. Understandably the Qur’an is the only unadulterated Divine scripture available today that aims at human Guidance and contains the basics of all learning. It is the source of wisdom having capacity to provide a self-assured leap in human knowledge presently struggling in the dilemma of details and diversity.

Grasping facts of the total message contained in the Qur’an, though imperative, is ostensibly unattainable. Majority of the learned people of today are unable to grip the message as they do not possess the spiritual base and/or the mastery over the language and the style in which the Qur’an has been revealed. Non availability or inaccessibility to the Heavenly Guided Teachers and their teachings only compound the difficulties. It is an undeniable fact that finding out and understanding the existing compilations of the authentic teachings of the true tutors of the Qur’an, stands obscured in the miasma of prejudice, power politics and past.

In the above scenario there is an earnest longing to develop some arrangement that could help us in understanding the divine scripture somewhat nearer to perfection. Such learning from the Qur’an would open the hitherto shut doors of lot many avenues of knowledge leading the humans towards varied and virgin pastures of learning. It would also orientate human learning on to the path of universal peace and prosperity.

Understandably the parameters of learning from the Qur’an could be threefold; firstly; learning by the commoners, secondly; advanced comprehension by the knowledgeable and thirdly; learning by those that are well grounded in knowledge. In the current effort we’ll initiate a process of learning on the latter two aspects although a lot more is still needed to be done for the first aspect.

Broad contours of a plan of learning from the Qur’an based on the theme of understanding the Qur’an from the Qur’an itself are:-

            Phase One. Assemble an electronic dictionary of the Qura’nic words and phrases containing all the shades of their linguistic meanings and the messages/connotations elaborated all over the Qur’an. This dictionary should be made available in all the major spoken languages of today.

           Phase Two. With the help of the work completed in Phase One, each ayah/ passage of the Qur’an is translated in to the major non-Arabic languages of present world encompassing all the shades of meanings and the messages of constituent words.

            Phase Three. Place the work of Phase Two before the most learned persons of every existing branch of human knowledge for further contemplation and exploring the directions/messages contained therein regarding their respective fields.

          Phase Four. Compile and collate the outcome of Phase Three to sift the wisdom of above learning for further contemplation and exploration.

Enormity, everlasting nature and the delicacy of the intended work prohibit it to be undertaken by a few individuals privately. The wisdom loving people of the world in general and the Muslim Ummah in particular need to pool the required resources in various forms to initiate and then take the work to a logical conclusion. Following need to be considered in this regard:-

·            An autonomous task force created through an act of Parliament pioneers the project under the direct supervision of the President or the Prime Minister as deemed appropriate. A consortium of like minded private organization could also assist such an effort. Alternately such a task force could be organized at the OIC level.

·            The task force could organize itself suiting the expeditious and thorough execution of the intended mission.

·            Work compiled by the task force is scrutinized, collated and updated in the light of the available collective wisdom.

·            Completed work of the task force according to various topics is made available to the humans in all the major languages of today.

The above ideas merit serious CONSIDERATION of those who remain in quest of learning and true meanings and messages of the Holy Book.
